K is a drug user, harm reductionist, and community organizer based on the East Coast.

From K: “I am from the Northern Midwest, and now live on the East Coast. I grew up in a family of drug users. The experiences, knowledge and understanding that has been transpired to me is sacred. I am a drug user and I have been a drug user for the majority of my life. When it comes to so-called harm reduction, there is no separation between who I am, my identity, and this work. I don’t think there was a distinct time where I started to become involved in harm reduction, I just always was a harm reductionist. I believe in autonomy and liberation for drug users above all by any means necessary. I know we are the experts and we have the solutions. Harm reduction is about just doing it, showing up, protecting each other, loving hard, being there for one another. We take care of us. I am not affiliated with any organization. However, I show up everyday for my community alongside people I love and people who I fight for and who fight for me.”
